Wise Improvements LLC and the Santa Fe Area Homebuilders Association are pleased to announce the formation of a Spanish language building council in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The first open lunch meeting is April 7th at 11:30am at the SFAHBA offices on Luisa St. Lunch will be provided. Spanish speakers in the building industry and trades are encouraged to attend as is anyone in the business community with inrest in the construction industry and the Spanish speaking population. This new organization has plans to meet once a month on the first Thursday. At the monthly Spanish Speaking Builders meetings the SFAHBA will be providing free lunch for attendees.

Handyman Santa Fe – Let’s face it, sooner or later we all need to use a handyman in Santa Fe

Homes in Santa Fe are unique.  People in every locale feel the same way, but here in this town we have flat roofs, stucco walls, temperature swings in one day of up to 60 degrees, dry climate, monsoon season, dry winters with little or no snow and many times during the year Santa Fe and New Mexico has the highest UV ratings in the country according the EPA of the United States.  All those factors are mentioned because our homes in Santa Fe take a beating from the elements.  If you’re not handy when it comes to fixing things like roof leaks, canale leaks, cracked stucco, plumbing problems due to frozen pipes (like the winter of 2011) etcetera, then at some point you’ll need to hire a handyman for the maintenance every home needs in Santa Fe.

Why hire a Handyman in Santa Fe? – There are advantages that keep adding up.  Places like Lowes and Home Depot make a living off of do-it-yourself home owners, but often times the home owner, especially the ones in Santa Fe, find themselves in over their head with repair or home improvement projects.

A local handyman, on the other hand will cost less and do a nice job, just like the local tile company.   The best way to determine if you should go the handyman route or tile company route or yourself for that matter, is to look at all three and see which one gets the job done the best at the best price.  Get quotes, get references, then you need to make the decision on how to get your tile job done.

Closets happen to have distinct place in American lore and Santa Fe for that matter where people open their closet and everything comes tumbling out.  You need to organize your closet.  The first thing to do is to empty it completely.  Once everything is out of the closet, pun completely meant and intended, take all the items and organize them in three stacks, which includes the keep pile, the donate pile, then the sell the stuff pile.  Once you’ve determined what you’re keeping, you can pick the closet system that will work for the items you want to store in the closet. If you’ve already organized your garage, then you can take some of the items and shelve them in your garage if you want or need to do so.

You pick a layout on the website that it similar to your closet layout then all you have to do is bring in the kits you like into your rendering to see what your closet will look like. The online design tool you chose will generate a list of materials and components you’ll need to complete your new closet.  Larger closets will of course cost more money, but in the end you’ll be so happy you made the move to clean out your closet, organize what you want to keep, donate what you can and sell what make sense.  You’ll reduce clutter in your home and down the road make your home more marketable because you’re home will be so user friendly.
